About the Lecture:
The concept of environmental peacebuilding highlights the possibilities of building peace through environmental cooperation. At the same time, it explores how working towards a peaceful future can benefit the environment. This lecture will introduce whether (and how) it works in practice.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Tobias Ide is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Murdoch University Perth, Australia and Specially Appointed Professor in Peace and Sustainability at the Hiroshima University. He is working broadly on the intersection of climate change, environmental stress, peace, conflict, and security. So far, he has published over 50 research articles and several books on this subject.

　環境平和構築という概念は，環境協力を通じて平和を構築する可能性に着目したものです。同時に，平和な未来に向けて取り組むことが環境にどのように有益であるのかも探ります。この講義では，環境平和構築が実際に機能するかどうか，そして，どのように機能するかを紹介します。

講演者について：
　Tobias Ide博士は，マードック大学の政治学・国際関係の上級講師であり，広島大学特任教授も務めておられます。気候変動，環境ストレス，平和，紛争，安全保障の境界領域で幅広い業績を上げています。これまでに，このテーマに関する50以上の研究論文と数冊の本を出版しています。
