January 6, 2024
To All Students,
Trustee (Education), Vice-President
On the evening of New Year’s Day, the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake struck Ishikawa and other neighboring prefectures. We are currently doing our utmost to confirm and secure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff as well as the safety of our campus, and strengthen student support associated with the disaster.
The duration of the remote class period for undergraduate and graduate school classes has been extended until January 11 (Thu.). We flexibly accommodate students who have difficulty taking classes due to the disaster, so please contact the “One-Stop Consultation Service”. If you are unable to contact directly, please let us know through your friend or acquaintance.
In addition, our unique student support system “Kanazawa University Emergency Student Support Loan” and a temporary scholarship from JASSO are available for students whose level of need has increased rapidly due to damage to their homes, including their parents’ homes, to enable them to devote themselves to their studies with a sense of security. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Furthermore, the KUGS Support Network, including counselors at the Health Service Center, is ready to provide counseling to students at any time.
Additionally, a support team consisting of certified psychologists, clinical psychologists, has been newly established, mainly at the Health Service Center. Specialists are available to help students with mental and physical problems caused by accidents and disasters. If you feel anxieties or disorders, please consult with us immediately.
The University has established the One-Stop Consultation Service for students as shown below, and continue to provide supports. Please feel free to contact the said Service without dealing with any difficulties, various anxieties, worries or troubles etc., in your student life all by yourself.
