5月16日，サウジアラビア・キングファイサル大学と本学との大学間交流協定を結びました。調印式にはキングファイサル大学からユスフ・モハマド・アル・ジャンダーン学長ほか3名，在日サウジアラビア大使館からイサム・ブカーリ文化アタッシェほか1名，本学からは中村信一学長，山崎光悦理事ほか3名の本学教職員が同席しました。
調印の後は，大学紹介や意見交換などが終始和やかな雰囲気で行われ，非常に充実した式となりました。その後，訪問団一行と本学教職員の間で今後の交流に関する具体的な打ち合わせが行われました。また，一行は調印式の前後に自然科学研究科と附属病院を視察しました。
On Wednesday, May 16, President Yussuf Mohammed Al-Jindan and 3 other delegates from King Faisal University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attended the signing ceremony for the Memorandum for Cooperation and Exchange with Kanazawa University. Dr. Issam A. Bukhary, Saudi Cultural Attaché, and 1 other staff from the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Japan were also in attendance, and from our university, President Shin-ichi Nakamura, Vice President Koetsu Yamazaki, and 3 other faculty and staff were present. After the signing, introduction of university and conversation took place in a friendly atmosphere, which made the ceremony a very substantial event. Afterward, there was a meeting between the delegates and our faculty and staff to discuss the specific exchanges in the future. Also, the delegates visited the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology and the University Hospital before and after the ceremony.
