11月11日，大学院自然科学研究科物質化学専攻は，フランスのストラスブール大学・欧州化学学校（ECPM）と部局間交流協定を締結しました。
1538年に創立されたストラスブール大学は，これまでに4名のノーベル賞受賞者を輩出しています。加えて，ECPMは世界で活躍する物質化学エンジニアを育成するフランス独自の高等教育機関グランゼコールであり，本協定は，双方の教育研究交流を強化する目的で締結したものです。本学で挙行した調印式には，フランソワーズ・コルベール教授およびカロリーヌ・シュミット国際部マネージャーが出席しました。
調印式に先立ち，向智里理事（研究担当）への表敬訪問が行われ，平成30年にストラスブール大学にて開催されたジョイントシンポジウム以来の教育研究交流のさらなる発展について意見交換が行われました。
また，調印式の後には，コルベール教授の特別講義が行われ，参加した約100名の学生はECPMの高度な講義を受け，自身の研究への思いを新たにしました。
On November 11, the Signing Ceremony for the department-level partnership between European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials (ECPM), University of Strasbourg in France and Division of Material Chemistry, Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University took place on Kakuma Campus.
University of Strasbourg established in 1538, and has produced four Nobel Prize winners. ECPM is one of grandes écoles in France which develop talents to promote a creative and responsible chemistry in an international context. Two delegates from Strasbourg, Prof. Francoise Colobert and Ms. Caroline Schmitt, International relations manager, attended this ceremony.
Prior to the ceremony, delegates from Strasbourg visited Dr. Chisato Mukai, Trustee of Research. There was a lively discussion about the enhancement of our collaboration which has developed since the joint symposium in 2018 February in Strasbourg.
After the ceremony, circa 100 students attended the special lecture by Prof. Colobert, and all were very impressed.
