5月10日，国立台湾大学と大学間交流協定及び学生交流に関する覚書を締結しました。調印式は台湾・台北市の台湾大学で開催され，本学から中村信一学長，長野勇理事（研究・国際担当），環日本海域環境研究センターの柏谷健二教授らが出席しました。この協定及び覚書を締結したことにより，本学と台湾大学との教育及び研究分野における交流がより一層促進されることが期待されます。
また，8日には台南市において，本学前身校である旧制第四高等学校卒業生の八田與一技師が台湾で水利事業に尽力したことをたたえる記念公園の開園式が行われ，中村学長が出席しました。
On May 10, 2011, Kanazawa University signed the statement of affiliation with National Taiwan University. The signing ceremony took place at National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan, and from our university, President Shin-ichi Nakamura, Vice President Isamu Nagano (in charge of Research and International Affairs), and Professor Kenji Kashiwaya of the Institute of Nature and Environmental Technology attended. With the statement and memorandum concluded, we can expect further promotion of cooperation and exchange between our university and National Taiwan University in fields of education and research.
Also, on May 8 in Tainan-City, President Nakamura attended the opening ceremony of a memorial park dedicated to the works of Yoichi Hatta, a Japanese engineer and a graduate of the Fourth Higher School (predecessor of Kanazawa University), who devoted himself to the construction of Taiwan’s water reservoir systems.
