6月17日，ウズベキスタン共和国から，フェルガナ工科大学長のウフタン・ラヒモビチ・サロモフ氏およびフェルガナ国立大学国際部長のサイードモハンマド・トゥイチボイゾダ氏，駐日ウズベキスタン共和国大使館公使参事官のムザッファル・ジャリロフ氏が来学し，和田隆志学長を表敬訪問しました。両大学は，ウズベキスタン共和国の東部フェルガナ州に位置しています。本学とのコラボレーションに強い関心を持つことから，今回来日に合わせて来学しました。工学に重点を置く両大学は，本学の工学分野の研究者等との交流の要望を和田学長に伝えました。同席した松本宏一理工研究域長も加え，双方が幅広く行う研究の中から，交流が可能な分野を検討していくことについて，意見が交わされました。
Delegates from Fergana Region, Republic of Uzbekistan visit Kanazawa University
On June 17, Prof. Dr. Uktam Rahimovich Salomov, Rector of Fergana Polytechnic Institute; Mr. Saidmukhammad Tuychiboyzoda, Head of International Affairs Division, Fergana State University; and Mr. Djalilov Muzaffar, Minister-Counselor of Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan paid a courtesy visit to President Takashi Wada. Both the university and the institute, located in the Fergana Region in the eastern part of the country, have a strong interest in collaboration with Kanazawa University, and made this trip on their occasion of visiting Japan. As they both emphasize on the engineering field, they strongly desire to establish researcher exchange and mobility with K.U. Prof. Matsumoto, Dean of Institute of Science and Engineering, who also attended the meeting. There were vigorous discussions about finding possible areas of exchange among the wide range of research conducted on both sides.
