10月20日，駐日東ティモール民主共和国特命全権大使イリディオ・シメネス・ダ・コスタ氏ほか2名が来学し，和田隆志学長を表敬訪問しました。
東ティモールでは現在，本学融合研究域藤生研究室と一般社団法人Carrying Water Project（CWP）とが「東ティモールへの水支援プロジェクト」を協同で実施しており，担当者である融合研究域融合科学系の藤生慎准教授とCWP の今洋佑代表理事から，東ティモールにおける水支援を通じた国際的活動について報告がありました。
また，イリディオ大使からは，シャナナ・グスマン元大統領の来学の可能性についても話があったほか，今後の東ティモール国立大学と本学との大学間国際交流協定締結を進めることについて，活発な意見が交わされました。
Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan Visits Kanazawa University
On October 20, H.E. Mr. Ilidio Ximenes da Costa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Japan, and his associates paid a courtesy visit to President Takashi Wada.
Currently, Water Assistance to Timor-Leste Project is being carried out by Laboratory of Associate Professor Shin Fujiu, Institute of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation, in collaboration with Carrying Water Project (CWP), a general incorporated association. Associate Professor Shin Fujio, who is in charge of the project, and CWP Representative Director Yosuke Kon reported on their international activities through water assistance in Timor-Leste.
The Ambassador spoke about the possibility of a visit by former President Xanana Gusmão to our university. Also, there was a lively exchange of opinions on concluding MoU between National University of Timor-Leste and Kanazawa University.
