12月7日，大学間交流協定大学であるベルギー・ゲント大学からリック・ヴァン・デ・ワレ学長，アンドレアス・ニーハウス教授およびアンナ・アンドレエワ教授らが来学し，本学の大学院人間社会環境研究科とゲント大学文学部東洋言語文化学科日本分野との国際ダブル修士ディグリープログラムに関する覚書を締結しました。
調印式に先立ち同大学一行は，志村恵副学長（国際担当）を表敬訪問し，両者は交流を多層化・深化することについて活発な意見を交わしました。
調印式後には，ゲント大学の交換留学生から勉学や生活の状況等について報告があり，留学の重要性について改めて認識を共有しました。その後，一行は人間社会系の講義棟や附属図書館を見学し，本学の歴史や多岐に渡る教育・研究の取り組みについて理解を深めました。
Kanazawa University Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies Concludes an Agreement with the Department of Oriental Languages and Cultures – Main Subject Japan, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Ghent University
On December 7, Prof. dr. Rik Van de Walle, Rector of Ghent University, Belgium, Prof. Andreas Niehaus, Prof. Anna Andreeva of the Japanese Studies and other associates visited Kanazawa University, and KU Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies concluded an agreement with the Department of Oriental Languages and Cultures – Main Subject Japan, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Ghent University, regarding the implementation of international double master’s degree program.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the delegates paid a courtesy visit to Professor SHIMURA Megumi, Vice-President (International Affairs). There was a lively exchange of ideas about multilayering and deepening the collaboration and exchanges between the two universities.
After the ceremony, exchange students from Ghent University reported on their studies and living conditions in Kanazawa, and the participants shared a renewed awareness of the importance of studying abroad.
The delegation was given a tour of the lecture building of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the library, through which they were introduced to the history, education, research, and other aspects of KU.
