“6th NanoLSI Symposium – Nanoprobe Technology for Understanding Molecular Systems” held on November 14-15, 2022
On November 14 (Mon.) and 15 (Tue.), 2022, the 6th NanoLSI Symposium was held in a hybrid format at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kanazawa, which was attended by about 150 researchers and students from Japan and overseas.
The symposium for this year was organized by Professor Mikihiro Shibata, who mainly researches single molecule observation using high-speed AFM in the field of nanometrology, and invited prominent researchers from Japan, Europe, the U.S., and Asia to discuss cutting-edge probe technology under the theme of "Nanoprobe Technology for Understanding Molecular Systems." For the first time in three years, we were able to invite guest speakers to the venue, not only from domestic but also from overseas, which led to lively discussions in all sessions.
In the poster session, young researchers and students from the NanoLSI participated as presenters, and the “chat”, the seeds of collaborative research that have ceased since the recent Corona pandemic, took place, leading to a fruitful research exchange.
It is hoped that such heated discussions and research exchanges, which only face-to-face meetings can generate, will lead to organic collaborative research in the future toward our Institute's mission of "fundamental understanding of all life phenomena, including the birth of life, diseases, and senescence at the nano-level.”
