2月24日，インド共和国駐日特命全権大使のシビ・ジョージ閣下らが和田学長を表敬訪問しました。
和田学長は，金沢大学とインドの研究機関との間で行われている共同研究プロジェクトや学生交流について紹介し，更なる学術連携の可能性について述べました。
シビ・ジョージ閣下は，インドと日本が産業面だけでなく，教育や研究の分野でも関係を強化する重要性を強調しました。さらにインドの学術界の現状を把握し，今後の交流の道筋を見出すために，和田学長にインド訪問を要請しました。
On February 24, H.E. Mr. Sibi George, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Japan, and his associates paid a courtesy visit to President Takashi Wada.
President Wada introduced the number of joint-research projects and student exchanges between Kanazawa University and Indian institutions. Also, President Wada mentioned that there is great potential for the further development of the academic partnership.
H.E. Mr. Sibi George emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between India and Japan not only in the area of industrial development but also in education and research. In addition, H.E. Mr. Sibi George has invited President Wada to visit India in order to discover the current situation in Indian academia and find the path for future exchanges.
