駐日リトアニア共和国特命全権大使を表敬訪問
Courtesy call on Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania

　10月24日，東京都の駐日リトアニア共和国大使館にて，和田隆志学長がリトアニア共和国のオーレリウス・ジーカス特命全権大使と懇談・意見交換を行いました。ジーカス大使は本学への留学経験があり，昨年11月には本学の志村恵副学長（国際担当）を表敬訪問しています。
　この度の懇談では，本学とリトアニアの大学との交流強化に向けた取り組みについて協議を行いました。今後は，既に本学と部局間協定を締結しているヴィリニュス大学をはじめとするリトアニアの大学と本学とのさまざまな分野での交流を促進すべく，協力していくことを確認しました。

On October 24, President Takashi Wada met with Dr. Aurelijus ZYKAS, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania, at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Tokyo. During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on further enhancing their partnership.
Ambassador ZYKAS himself had been an international student at Kanazawa University (KU). In November 2022, he paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Megumi Shimura, the Vice-President for International Affairs. 
The focus of the discussion in Tokyo was on developing a scheme to strengthen cooperation between KU and universities in Lithuania. Both parties agreed to proceed with the implementation of procedures that will promote multidirectional collaboration between KU and Vilnius University, KU’s Department-Level International Partner Institution, as well as other Lithuanian universities, across various fields.
