9月13日，カナダのユーコンカレッジで，本学と同カレッジの大学間国際交流協定を締結しました。ユーコンカレッジは本学にとってカナダで最初の協定校となります。調印式にはユーコンカレッジからカレン・バーンズ学長ほか3名，本学からは生田省悟人間社会学域長および外国語教育研究センターの結城正美教授が出席しました。
学生相互派遣など，交流の推進に向けて今後が期待されます。
また，これに先立ち，9月8日から本学の学生15人が交換留学生として，英語や先住民文化を学ぶため，ユーコンカレッジに滞在しています。
10日には，地元学生との交流のきっかけとして，日本文化紹介のワークショップを企画し開催。箸の使い方をゲームで教えるなどの交流を行い，地元新聞でも紹介されました。
On September 13, the signing ceremony for the Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange between Yukon College (YC), our first partner institution in Canada, and Kanazawa University (KU) took place at YC, and President Karen Barnes and three other members were in attendance. From KU, Dean Shogo Ikuta of the College of Human and Social Sciences and Prof. Masami Yuki of the Foreign Language Institute attended.
There is anticipation for much future exchange.
Prior to this event, from Sunday, September 8th, 15 exchange students from Kanazawa University are visiting Yukon College to study English and First Nations culture.
On 10th, the students planned and held a workshop to introduce Japanese culture. The students played chopstick handling game with preschoolers etc, and this workshop was introduced in local newspapers.
