2月18日，大学院自然科学研究科環境技術国際コース（ETIC）とサステナブルエネルギー研究センター（RSET）は「ETIC/RSET/SPSDジョイントシンポジウム」を開催し，中国の清華大学から来学した，左 剣悪（サ・ケンウ）環境学院教授，宋 晔皓（ソン・イェハオ）建築学院教授ならびに趙 明（チョウ・メイ）環境学院准教授が講演しました。
同シンポジウムには，シンガポール国立大学，同済大学，北京師範大学，北京建築大学，北京交通大学，華南理工大学，福州大学海外リエゾンオフィス，深圳大学，ソウル大学校，台湾国立政治大学など国内外の機関から約100名が参加し，各講演の後には活発な質疑応答が行われました。
また，清華大学の一行は同日，山崎光悦学長を表敬訪問し，今年5月に清華大学で開催が予定されている「カナザワデイ」への参加や，両大学間の今後の交流などについて意見交換しました。
On February 18, Professor Zuo Jiane and Associate Professor Zhao Ming of Tsinghua University Department of Environmental Science and Professor Song Yehao of the School of Architecture visited Kanazawa University have given their talks at “The ETIC/RSET/SPSD Joint Symposium” hosted by Kanazawa University Environmental Technology International Course (ETIC)/Research Center for Sustainable Energy and Technology (RSET).
Approximately 100 persons from domestic and overseas institutions including the National University of Singapore, Tongji University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing Jiaotong University, South China University of Technology, Fuzhou University Overseas Liaison Office, Shenzen University, Seoul National University, and Taiwan National Chengchi University participated in this symposium, and active questions and answers took place after each presentation.
Also on the 18, the professors paid a courtesy visit to President Koetsu Yamazaki, and a friendly discussion took place on the topics of Kanazawa Day, scheduled to take place in May 2019 in Beijing, and further exchanges between the two universities.
