10月24日，国際協力機構（JICA）北陸と本学が協力して実施する草の根技術協力事業「イフガオ里山マイスター養成プログラム」の研修員21名，昨年度の修了生3名，本学の協定校である国立イフガオ大学のエルピディオ・バジリオ・ジュニア研究・開発センター長ほか2名および国立ベンゲット大学からロメオ・ゴメス大学院長が来学し，山崎光悦学長を表敬訪問しました。
懇談では，訪問団代表のゴメス大学院長からのあいさつ，中村浩二名誉教授による訪問団紹介の後，和やかな雰囲気の中，活発な意見が交わされました。
今回の研修で訪問団は，10月20日に来日し，26日まで能登での千枚田見学や農家訪問などを含むプログラムに参加します。この研修を通して，参加者が積極的に日本での経験などを生かしながら，自国で里山マイスターとしての活動に取り組むことが期待されます。
On October 24, 21 trainees of Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program, 3 alumni of last year’s program, Dr. Elpidio B. Basilio Jr., Director for Research and Development, and 2 delegates from Ifugao State University, and Dr. Romeo Jr. A. Gomez, Dean of Benguet State University Graduate School, visited Kanazawa University and paid a courtesy visit to President Koetsu Yamazaki.
At the meeting, Dr. Basilio offered his greetings on behalf of the delegation, followed by Visiting Professor Koji Nakamura’s introduction of the delegation, and active conversation took place until the closing time.
The trainees arrived in Japan on October 20, and they will take part in the program until October 26. The program agenda includes visit to Noto senmaida (rice terraces) and farmers’ houses. The trainees are expected take advantage of their experience in Japan and to involve themselves in activities as Satoyama Meister in their home country.
