2月16日,ミャンマー・ヤンゴン市内のサミット・パークビューホテルにて第3回海外同窓会総会を開催し,各海外同窓会代表および本学教職員14名が参加しました。海外同窓会総会では山崎光悦学長のあいさつの後,田中茂雄学長補佐から本学の近況説明,各海外同窓会から活動報告がありました。また,同窓会代表から本学への提案や希望があり,これらの意見を踏まえた課題の共有等を通じて活発な意見交換が行われました。次は2年後にタイで開催することを確認し,大谷吉生副学長の閉会のあいさつをもって幕を閉じました。
本総会に合わせて,前日の2月15日には,第2回金沢大学ミャンマー同窓会が行われ,ミャンマー在住の同窓生13名,在ミャンマー大使館の堀口昭仁二等書記官,ミャンマー元日本留学生協会のミョー・キン会長ほか1名,岡山大学日本留学情報センターの鳥越麻美コーディネーター,各海外同窓会代表および本学教職員合わせて29名が参加しました。同窓会は校歌斉唱に始まり,山崎学長およびミャンマー同窓会のキン・マー・ミン会長からの歓迎のあいさつの後,出席者の紹介があり,参加者らは各地で活躍する同窓生の話に熱心に耳を傾けていました。
同窓生にとっては,ミャンマー国内外同窓生とのネットワークをつくる良い機会となり,互いに再会を約束し合いました。
On February 16, the 3rd General Conference of Kanazawa University Overseas Alumni Association was held at Summit Parkview Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar, and a total of 14 people including the representative of each oversea alumni association as well as the faculties and staffs from Kanazawa University participated in the event. At the General Conference, President Koetsu Yamazaki delivered an opening speech, followed by a presentation on the current status of the university by Tanaka Shigeo, Advisor to the President, and reports on various activities by each overseas association. The oversea representatives proposed ideas to the university and shared some of the concerns with each other, and the participants actively exchanged their opinions and thoughts. The participants confirmed the next meeting in Thailand, the next host country, and the Conference came to a close upon the closing address by Vice President Otani Yoshio.
In conjunction with the Conference, the 2nd Meeting of Kanazawa University Overseas Alumni Association in Myanmar was also held on the previous day of February 15, and a total of 29 people participated in the meeting, including 13 alumni residing in Myanmar, Mr. Horiguchi Akihito of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar, Professor Dr. Myo Khin, president of Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni, and one other personnel, Ms. Torigoe Asami of the Okayama University Japan Educational Information Center, representatives from each oversea alumni association, and the faculties and staffs from Kanazawa University.The meeting kicked off with singing of the alma mater, and a welcome speech was delivered by President Yamazaki and Dr. Khin Mar Myint, chairman of Kanazawa University Students Alumni in Myanmar. The participants were then each introduced and they all attentively listened to the stories by the alumni who work at the forefront in various places in the world.
It provided an excellent networking opportunity for the alumni to get connected with the Myanmar alumni who resided domestically and internationally, and they all promised to meet again.
