2月9日，在京都フランス総領事館よりジュール・イルマン総領事が来学し，神谷佳男金沢日仏協会副会長，元雄ひとみ同協会事務局長とともに，山崎光悦学長を表敬訪問しました。2024年オリンピック開催予定国であるフランスは本年10月より日本各地にてフランス祭「ラ・セゾン」を展開予定。文学や食の文化が有名なフランスですが，医学や科学技術の発達も著しく，今後広い分野におけるさらなる交流の可能性等について意見が交わされました。
学長表敬に続き，人間社会研究域歴史言語文化学系・粕谷雄一教授により，イルマン総領事を囲んで懇談会が開催され，フランスの協定校へ留学した学生やフランス語を学ぶ学生，教員等を交え，フランス語の学習や就職等について質疑応答や情報交換が行われました。
Consul General of France in Kyoto Visits Kanazawa University
On February 9, Consul General Jules Irrmann of France in Kyoto paid a courtesy visit to President Yamazaki, along with Prof. Yoshio Kamitani, Vice-President of L'Association Franco-Japonaise de Kanazawa and Director General of that organization, Ms Hitomi Motoo. With the Paris Olympic Games scheduled in 2024, a French Festival "La Saison" will be organized all over Japan beginning in October 2021. Although France is famous for literature and food culture, it has also provided remarkable progress in medical science and innovative technology. There were discussions about the possibility of further collaboration between institutions of higher education in France and KU.
After that, a social gathering with Consul General Irrmann was arranged by Prof. Yuichi Kasuya from the Institute of Human and Social Sciences. Students who studied at our partner universities in France or who study French, faculty members and others enjoyed the Q&A session regarding leaning French, finding employment and information exchange.
