国際機構が主催する海外初心者のための短期留学プログラム「ファーストステッププログラム」の参加学生6名が，本学協定校マヒドン大学（タイ）のオンラインプログラムにおいて，マレーシアやインドネシアの5名の学生たちと3月1日から3月12日の約2週間学びました。
オンデマンドとライブ授業が効果的に組み合わされたこのプログラムでは，タイの文化や民族，歴史や周辺各国との関係といった知識を学ぶのみならず，タイボクシングやタイ料理の作り方，民族舞踊等のバーチャル文化体験の機会も多く提供されました。さらには各国参加者とのグループワークやディスカッションも多く組み込まれるなど，国際コミュニケーション能力の向上も重視されていました。
今後も金沢大学から多くの学生がこのプログラム参加し，様々な国々の学生とともに日頃から慣れ親しんだものとは異なる文化や習慣に触れることで，新たな国際的な視座を得ることが期待されます。
Our students in Sawasdee Thailand Virtual Program 2021 by Mahidol University in Thailand
Six students in Kanazawa University’s First Step Program organized by Organization of Global Affairs participated together with other five students from Malaysia and Indonesia in the virtual exchange program “Sawasdee Thailand Virtual Program 2021” by Mahidol University from 1st March 12th March 2021.
This program was efficiently combined with online archived lectures and live courses focusing Thai culture and history, ethnologic and political relations, additionally also the virtual cultural experiences on Thai boxing, Thai cooking and traditional Thai dance. Many discussions and workings in pairs and groups developed students’ collaborative social skills and communication skill in the situation far from Japan.
Much more students from Kanazawa will surely join in this program from now on. Working with students from various countries, they will break free of the habits and cultural norms they are accustomed to. This program would bring them novel views.
