Through one month of language training and internship in Malaysia

First, I did language training at Berjaya University for the first two weeks. Berjaya University is a university located on the upper floor of a huge commercial facility called Times Square in Kuala Lumpur, the center of Malaysia. Classes were held with students at Osaka Gakuin University, Kokugakuin University, and Baiko Gakuin University. In the first week, we interviewed students at Berjaya University and people in the city to get used to speaking English. In the second week, I learned how to use English in business for my internship. Classes were group work and the group changed randomly every day, so even those who are worried about overseas alone can make friends immediately, so it is very safe. In this lesson, I could not only get used to using English, but also learn about Malaysian culture through actual interviews, learn how to write correct business emails and how the company works. Even in such a short period of two weeks, I was able to learn very deeply.

For the next three weeks, I worked as an internship at Ascott Kuala Lumpur hotel. I mainly worked at the front desk, where I learned not only how to respond to customers, but also how to answer calls and check in and out. Fortunately, I could join the event that the hotel managers held once a year for employees to improve their motivation held once a year. For example, I joined a treasure hunter game and participated in meals provided at a party for this event. The event was a great opportunity to get along well with the employees, and it was a great strength to because many people talked to me every day. The internship at the hotel allowed me to communicate with guests of all ages, from different countries, so I could have a valuable experience that I could not find in other offices.

Malaysians love Japan very much and I was often asked about Japanese culture, so I was very excited about talking about Japan and I was able to make many friends across borders. Many students may think that studying abroad is mostly for English-speaking countries, but in Malaysia, there were so many people who could speak English, so you do not have to worry. In addition, Malaysia is a country where the cultures of many countries are mixed, so it is very suitable for studying abroad because you can experience various cultures in one country and experience that you cannot have in other countries.
