On June 23rd, Ms. Naoko Sawamatsu, a former professional tennis player, delivered a special lecture“Go to the World and Fly High! ~ From 10 years Experiences of Tennis Tour” at Room A1, General Education Lecture Hall, and approximately 70 students attended. This is the special lecture series featuring notable individuals who have rich experience abroad or in intercultural environment with the purpose to encourage our students to turn their attention to the world and globalization. This series was planned by President Koetsu Yamazaki as a part of the Top Global University Project and is to be held periodically this fiscal year and beyond.

After the opening address by Vice President Masayoshi Shibata, Ms. Sawamatsu gave a lecture and talked about the importance of developing one’s strong points and self-confidence. In addition, she encouraged students to go abroad as there is lot to gain from overseas experience. The audience listened attentively all through the lecture, and there were active questions from the audience.
