Community learning “Super” Experience Program in Suzu Takes Place 【KU-GLOCS ACT.15】

Community learning “Super” Experience Program in Suzu 【KU-GLOCS ACT.15】took place from July 18 to 20, and 30 students including international students joined the event.

This camp aims to nurture human resilience which will help the students train and develop oneself through recognizing the importance of physical and mental strength, accepting diverse ways of thinking, and being aware that they are members of the society in an environment where they share joys and sorrows with each other.

They experienced Zen meditation, mowed the grass of conservation forest, stayed at local residents’ house, and listened to the lectures by President Koetsu YAMAZAKI and Vice President Masayoshi SHIBATA. They cooperated with each other in mowing grass and deepened their understandings of the area through staying and talking with local residents. After the event, some participants said that they would like to improve their communication skills, and others said that they would like to know more about the area where they grew up. These experiences gave them some clues to develop themselves.

Community learning “Super” Experience Program newly began this year and each course inclusive of prep class, camp, and review class will give the participants 1 credit. This year’s program will be held 4 times and the next one will be held from September 17 to 19 at Ogi area, Noto town.
