On September 21, Vice President Hiroshi Yamamoto (in charge of International Affairs, Hospital and Alumni Association), Professor Seiichi Nakamura (Center for Cultural Resource Studies) and other delegates visited Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and paid a courtesy visit to President Roberto Moreno Godoy. Afterword, there was a discussion about the field of possible future collaborations between the two universities with the Deans of Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. Kanazawa University concluded the university-level Agreement for Cooperation and Exchange with Universidad del Valle de Guatemala University in 2015. Through this visit, it is expected that the relationship between the two universities will further deepen in the future.

On September 22, Vice President Yamamoto, Professor Nakamura and other delegates visited University of San Carlos of Guatemala and attended the concluding ceremony for the university-level Agreement for Cooperation and Exchange. President Carlos Guillermo Alvarado Cerezo and Carlos Alberto Granados Posadas, Head of International Affairs cooperation coordinator from University of San Carlos of Guatemala and Nobuyuki Shirakata, Chargés d’affaires ad interim from Embassy of Japan in Guatemala attended the concluding ceremony. Afterword, there was a discussion about expanding future collaborations between the two universities.
