On October 26, 13 trainees of Ifugao Satoyama Meister Training Program, 2 alumni of last year’s program, Mayor of Kiangan Town and 2 chaperone faculty members of Ifugao State University visited Kanazawa University and paid a courtesy visit to President Yamazaki.
At the meeting, Mr. Joselito G. Guyguyon, Mayor of Kiangan and a member of Ifugao GIAHS Sustainable Development Committee offered his greetings on behalf of the delegation, followed by self-introduction of each trainee, and active conversation took place until the closing time.
The trainees arrived in Japan on October 22, and they will take part in the program until October 28. The program agenda includes visit to Noto senmaida (rice terraces) and farmers’ houses. The trainees are expected take advantage of their experience in Japan and to involve themselves in activities as Satoyama Meister in their home country.
